Midweek Mindfulness

"Mindfulness means being awake.
It means knowing what you are
 doing." Jon Kabat-Zinn

"To produce at your peak level, you
need to work for extended periods
with full concentration on a single
task free from distraction."
Carl Newport

As Professor Jon-Kabat Zinn put it
in his bestselling book,
Wherever
You Go, There You Are.

"Fundamentally, mindfulness is a
simple concept. [...] Mindfulness
means paying attention in a
particular way: on purpose, in the
present moment, and
nonjudgmentally."

Escape from those midweek blues
by taking time first thing in the
morning to give yourself time to
wake up in your own time.

Don't rush your shower, your
breakfast your downtime. This is
your time to be relaxed, unhurried
and prepare yourself for the day
ahead.

Enjoy everything you do, take time
to pay attention to yourself, on
purpose and being non-judgemental.

This will no doubt set up your working
day to succeed and to give your best
due to improved concentration and
having a clear head and the knowing
that to produce your best you need -
as the above quote says, to give full
levels of attention in one stint to
produce peak performance.

And as well you will feel a sense of
great achievement.

And, ask yourself a question

Is mindfulness something that you
could adhere to regularly?

Until next week.
